Reiki was rediscovered by Dr Usui at the start of the last century in his search for the explanation behind Jesus' miracles. To cut a long story short, having found no answer in the Christian scriptures he turned to the Buddhist scriptures and found what he needed. You can read more about Dr Usui's story in my reiki I manual, which is for sale in the e-book Shop. I refund the price of the manual to people who attend my workshops for reiki I and reiki II respectively. 

Universal life force

Reiki means universal force and that's what it is. It is a transfer of universal force from the therapist to the client which helps the client deal with the situation they are facing, whether it be an illness or an emotional challenge. It is up to the client to want to get better but if she wants to then reiki can help her take leaps and bounds. Because of that, reiki is an energy therapy.

Reiki as a health promoter

Reiki is wonderful to enhance health. It does not only benefit people when they are unwell. I have used it with wonderful effect during pregnancy and on babies.
