Clinical hypnotherapist

Clinical hypnotherapy

I trained with the Clifton Practice in Bristol in 2006-2007. This school combines a high level of theoritical teaching with comprehensive practice and case studying throughout the year long course. This is not the case for all schools of hypnotherapy as a lot are either correspondance courses or theory based only. In the latter case, the practice is then done on the clients when the therapist sets up her practice.

The Clifton Practice is considered by the National Council for Hynoptherapy as the golden standards in terms of teaching and for the quality of the portfolio submitted by students as part of their final exams.

Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy Diploma

I hold a HPD which is currently the highest qualification in the hypnotherapy field - an NVQ4 level qualification.

Member of the NCH and the UKCHO

I am a member of the NCH (National Council for Hypnotherapy) and as such commit to continual supervision and training. This also makes me a member of the UKCHO. My registration number with them is 82062.

Counselling Skills

As part of my training as a Reiki Master I have completed a year long certificate in counselling skills with the City of Bristol College, with a specific focus on children and young adults.

Milton Erickson and transpersonal approach

The hypnotherapeutic part of my work rests on the work of Milton Erickson and clinical hypnotherapy. However, I also use the transpersonal approach to hypnotherapy which treats clients holistically including in their work the spiritual dimension. Religious beliefs are welcome, although I myself do not belong to any religion.

Supported by energy and symbolic work

Although you might not see how tarot links into my hypnotherapy practice, it actually enriches it tremendously. The reason for this is that extensive study of tarot, as I do, enables you to grasp the powers of symbols and of archetypes and the role they play in our lives. It helps work with images and dreams. It also trains you in the art of story telling, which is essential in the hypnotherapeutic work.

Reiki also adds another essential dimension. Whilst hypnotherapy alone is very powerful, it benefits from reiki as the latter can clear energy and thought patterns and enable the client to have a new start. I also look into people's home with a feng shui angle when needed and do energy cleanses to enable them again to get a fresh start.
