Clairvoyance relies on symbols
The reason why clairvoyance work is so tricky is that it relies on the interpretation of symbols by the clairvoyant. This means that to train as a clairvoyant you have to understand the variety, the richness and the power of symbols and understand your own symbology. That can take years of practice. When clairvoyants get things wrong, it is sometimes because they misinterpret a symbol. This can be done easily. Just as any other mistake can be made in other types of work because we are all only human.
This is true when you use clairvoyance for your own self-development too. You need to delve into your own rich symbolism. And the more you do this work, which is also linked to dream interpretation and working with the subconscious, the more prepared you will be to understand premonitions, signs and symbols.
Premonitory dreams
People who develop clairvoyantly, often start by having premonitory dreams. It is a gentle way for spirit to contact you without scaring you. What are they? They are dreams that come true. I have had these for as long as I can remember.
There is one particular dream that stuck with me for a long time. As a young adult, at University, I dreamt that the brother of an American friend of mine who was in coma (the brother not the friend) came to me and told me he was going to be fine. When I woke up the next day I didn't know what to do. It was only a dream. I didn't even know what clairvoyance was then. I had been raised as a catholic with no insight into these things. In the end, I decided to share my dream with my friend. She thanked me for it and as she did, I cringed in fear. What if I had given her false hope? Who was I to do this? Later on that day, she called her family to enquire about her brother's health and her parents enthusiastically told her how her brother had snapped out of coma literally a few hours before. I was gobsmacked. When I met her brother many years later, I recognised him instantly from my dream.
Spirit contact us through our dreams too
When I moved to England in 2001, my grandmother died. She had been weak for a while and my mother was visiting me to help me settle in to my new life across the Channel, so it was a couple of hours until we heard the news.
My grand mother came to me in my dreams the night before and told me it was time for her to go. My sister was with us and she sang us a song that she loved to sing us when we were little. I cried and my sister too, in my dream, but my grand mother said "Oh but you must not be sad. I am so happy. I am going to a really good place. I will be coming to visit from time to time" As I saw her fade away I said "stay please, not so soon". But she was gone. The following morning, my aunt called to say she had died.
It is important that you study your dreams and your symbology - tarot helps you do that
I used to be fascinated by dream dictionaries and the like and I devoured them to try and find sense in the madness of my dreams. Dream dictionaries are only a tool and will never aptly reflect the richness of your dreams. You need to understand what they mean to you in your life. No one else can do that for you. I can help you do that however through exploration of your own symbology and dreams.
Take a circle, for example. It means so many different things to different people. It can symbolise a wedding ring, a circle of friends, a circle of trust, an open mouth, a peep hole, a ball, an opening... just to name a few. This is why tarot is so rich and helpful to crack mysteries. It has a very rich symbology and because each card has at least twenty different meanings, it can speak uniquely depending on what the question is and which card it sits next. A good tarot reader has done a lot of dream work and symbology work. She knows the richness of symbols and all the different fascets of a card and can discriminate the meaning of a card in a particular context.
